The scoop on me
Bridgette Boudreau, Certified Life Coach
I hired a coach. Through working with her, I was able to see the one common thread throughout my career—me. I was able to realize that my various thoughts about work were making me miserable. I had a need to be recognized, achieve, make people happy and be in control. Not exactly a recipe for job satisfaction. Once I realized it was up to me, I was able to start on the path of getting “warmer” in terms of what I really wanted. For me this path included breaking all my cardinal rules: quitting a job without having another one, starting a consulting business without any clients, taking a job with wonderful people and leaving them because it wasn’t right for me, leaving my old profession and identity for the new and completely impractical (so I thought) profession of life coaching. My path was radical, what can I say, I’m stubborn. Your path will be completely different. When I got out of my own way, I started on the path to finding my true calling. It wasn’t one of those instant flashes of recognition, I just kept moving toward what felt better and lo and behold, it kept getting better and better (and way more interesting). Now I’m one of those annoying people who LOVES what I do. I have energy, enthusiasm, and creative drive. I’ve got the spark. Turns out it’s my calling to guide others through this process of becoming happier, more fulfilled and energetic. It’s not my job to take you down my path; my job is to help you find your own. May you join the ranks of the annoyingly happy soon. |
